World Water Day
"As the world charts a more sustainable future, the crucial interplay among water, food and energy is one of the most formidable challenges we face. Without water there is no dignity and no escape from poverty. Yet the millennium development goal target for water and sanitation is among those on which many countries lag the most." - Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-Moon

According to the UN's Millennium Development Goals website:
"Half of the world's people live in cities today, anUN Millennium Development Goalsd the urban population is growing rapidly. About 828 million people live in slums or informal settlements, often without safe drinking water or toilets. World Water Day (22 March) this year focuses on "Water for cities: responding to the urban challenge." Events around the world spotlight the impacts of population growth, industrialization, climate change, conflicts and natural disasters on urban water systems."

The Green Family Foundation focuses on achieving the eight Millennium Development Goals with every project we undertake - you should too!
