Timeline & Deadlines

The Green Family Foundation accepts Letters of Intent between October 1 and April 1 by 5 p.m. EST of the following year. In those instances when the deadline date falls on a weekend or federal holiday, the deadline shall move to the next business day.

All Letters of Intent must be submitted via this website. We do not accept letters of intent through mail, email, or in-person.

Because the Foundation accepts letters of intent over a six-month period, the Foundation will not provide an extension to submitting a letter of intent.

Should your organization be selected among our pool of prospective grantees, we will contact you in May to advise on the next steps to completing a full application and project proposal. The full application and project proposal are due on July 1st by 5 p.m. EST. We ask that organizations do not contact the Foundation to request status updates unless they have not received an update within the timeframe cited above.

If your organization is invited to submit a full proposal, supplementary documents will be required:

  • Proof of 501(c)3 tax exempt status.
  • A project proposal that includes a more detailed description of need and the proposed solution or benefit to the target population as it pertains to the Foundation’s funding priorities.
  • Your project proposal should define the desired outcomes of the project, the outcomes measurements employed to assess its effectiveness, and the population served.
  • A budget proposal that includes an itemized accounting of how the funds will be spent, outlining all costs associated with the proposed project.
  • A copy of your most recent financial statements and/or form 990.

Applicants are notified of funding decisions in August. Grant awards are disbursed in September.
