The Green Family Foundation is a longstanding partner of People For the American Way’s Young Elected Officials (YEO) Network. The first and only national initiative to support a new generation of progressive leaders under the age of 35, the YEO Network equips young elected officials to make policy reforms benefitting their communities. People For the American Ways provides YEOs access to bespoke policy development and skills-based training resources, as well as the peer support needed to advance to higher offices. Today, over 1,400 officials are part of the YEO Network—in offices ranging from school board members and state legislators to mayors and U.S. Congresspeople. Alumni/ae of the program include U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Pennsylvania Congresswoman Summer Lee, and former U.S. Secretary of Housing & Urban Development Julián Castro.
